Shipping
For most of our products, we ship only within the 50 United States. Beneficial Insects can only be shipped to the continental 48 states. Our shipping policy is designed to get our products to you in the best condition at the lowest price possible. We add a fee of $2.00 per box to the standard UPS charges to cover packaging and handling. Whenever we can, we save you shipping costs by combining product orders and by shipping bulky items (such as 50 lb bags of fertilizer) as separate items. The online order form gives you a breakdown of the individual packages with approximate weights.

Shipping lead times
We are usually able to process an order within 1-3 business days of receiving it. Shipping time starts when your order leaves us. For rush orders, take the following into account:

• UPS/FedEx Ground, allow 3-6 business days.
• UPS/FedEx 2nd Day Air, order arrives on 2nd business day after it leaves us. For same week delivery, place your order by Tuesday noon.
• UPS Next Day Air/FedEx Overnight , order arrives the following business day. For same week delivery, place your order by Wednesday noon.
• Common Carrier, allow 4 - 10 business days, depending on location

Shipments of beneficial insects
For all beneficial insects, except Grub Guard Nematodes, order by Wednesday noon (EST) to ensure delivery during the following week. Grub Guard Nematodes are shipped Mondays and Tuesdays only; order by Thursday noon (EST) to ensure delivery the following week. Beneficial Insects can only be shipped to the continental 48 states.

Vulnerable shipments of beneficial insects are shipped to you directly from our suppliers and are timed so that they do not hang around a warehouse over a weekend. By default, we ship beneficial insects by UPS 2nd Day Air. In most cases, insects will arrive in great condition. However, we can only guarantee beneficial insects if they are shipped for next day delivery (usually UPS Next Day Air). Even with the additional expense of Next Day Air (an additional $21), our prices are still very competitive.

Tip: leave out a cooler for shipments of live organisms
If you think you might not be home to personally receive a shipment of live organisms, we suggest that you leave a cooler outside with a note for the driver. Ask the driver to leave the shipment inside the cooler to protect the insects from temperature extremes.

Freight quote request (for orders weighing over 300 lbs)
Choose this shipping option if you are ordering bulk items or placing a large order (over 300 lbs in one shipment). If you can receive shipment of large orders at a business address with a loading dock, the savings to you can be substantial. We will research the most competitive shipping quote and advise you by email of the amount (usually within 1 business day). Only after you approve this amount by email or phone, do we process the order and charge your credit card.

Items with Free Shipping
We offer some items with free shipping. Orders for beneficial insects and nematodes are automatically shipped by UPS 2nd Day Air unless the customer wants Next Day Air service and pays the additional $21 surcharge. For dry goods, free shipping applies only to the 48 contiguous United States and excludes Alaska and Hawaii. Customers from those states can request 2nd Day Air service and should inquire about the surcharge.

Neighborhood/Collective Orders
It makes sense for neighbors to collaborate with organic gardening (we all share the same ground water). Neighbors can reduce their costs by pooling orders and having them delivered to one location (ideally a local business with a shipping dock). The savings on freight can be substantial. Shipping to a business address?
If you want your order delivered to a business address, select the UPS Ground Commercial option. It can save you a couple of dollars.
